John Rossiter created The Fool after Shahzad Ismaily reached out for a collaboration.
They began jamming in New York, while Rossiter spent his Los Angeles days gardening and singing with friends Alex Babbitt and Alex Lappin. Eventually, these two circles merged, leading to the creation of Rossiter’s vibrant synthpop tracks between the two cities. This album feels like an emotional release compared to 2022’s more introspective Shepherd Head. The lively “Brenda & Diane” is the standout track on this LP.

James Devane: Searching [Umeboshi]
James Devane’s new album, Searching, dives into experimental techno with a twist of randomness. Released under Umeboshi, Devane explains that his process involved hours of source material manipulated by custom software without any regard for key or rhythm. He used just two buttons: search and save.
I think randomness can lead to amazing discoveries.
This unique method creates a sound that feels both spontaneous and meticulously crafted.
