With so much music dropping constantly, figuring out what to hear first can be tricky.
Childish Gambino: Bando Stone and the New World [RCA]
Childish Gambino is ending his musical journey. Donald Glover has hinted for years that he’d retire the name, which he got from a Wu-Tang Clan name generator. Now, with the release of Bando Stone and the New World, it’s happening. “It felt like it was over,” Glover mentioned in an interview with Reggie Ugwu for The New York Times. “I didn’t feel fulfilled anymore.” The album features Jorja Smith, Amaarae on “In the Night,” Yeat, Chlöe, and producers Ludwig Göransson, Michael Uzowuru, Max Martin, among others.
I think endings are always bittersweet.
