Baths Releases First Album Since 2017 with New Song “Sea of Men” Video

Will Wiesenfeld is back with a new Baths album called Gut, his first since 2017’s Romaplasm.

The album, scheduled for release on February 21 through Basementโ€™s Basement, kicks off with the track โ€œSea of Men,โ€ which has its own music video crafted by Wiesenfeld. You can check it out below (via Paper). Before the pandemic hit, he started working on this project and wrapped it up in April 2022. He shared that Gut was about expressing feelings directly without overthinking them: โ€œGut is essentially me trying to make my feelings make sense by not initially psychoanalyzing them,โ€ he said, โ€œby instead just having feelings said and put on the table.โ€

Since releasing Romaplasm, he’s been busy with other projects like the 2020 compilation Pop Music / False B-Sides II, soundtracks for Netflix’s show Bee and PuppyCat, and various Geotic albums including this yearโ€™s The Anchorite.

Fans sometimes feel overwhelmed by how much amazing music comes out each year.

While we’re at it, let’s remember when Baths’ song “Dream Daddy” snagged spot number 86 on “The 100 Best Songs of 2017.”
