Clairo rocked Coachella on Saturday night, April 12, with a surprise appearance by Bernie Sanders introducing her performance.
Sanders, the Vermont Senator, stepped up to the mic and praised Clairo for using her fame to support women’s rights and speak against the war in Gaza. He said, “I’m here to introduce Clairo not just because they are a great band,” adding that she fights for important causes. You can scroll down for more clips of what he said or catch her full set in the livestream below.
Before showing up at Coachella, Sanders held a rally in Los Angeles where musicians like Maggie Rogers, Indigo de Souza, Neil Young, and Joan Baez performed. Just last month during his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour stop, he was joined by The Armed. After releasing Charm in 2024, Clairo has been busy sharing videos for songs like “Juna,” “Sexy to Someone,” and “Terrapin,” which even featured ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.
Fans sometimes wonder how cool it would be if more politicians teamed up with artists at concerts.
