Black Sabbath Reunites for Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Show

After two decades, Black Sabbath will play together again in what’s being called Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance.

The charity event, “Back to the Beginning,” is set for July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham and promises a massive rock lineup with Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, and a special group led by Billy Corgan, Slash, Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Tom Morello as the musical director. Also rocking the stage are Gojira, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Halestorm along with Duff McKagan and Slash from Guns N’ Roses. Before reuniting with his bandmates on stage for some epic tunes including Sabbath classics and solo hits from Ozzy himself—other artists will also cover these songs—Ozzy plans to perform solo. Sharon Osbourne hinted more musicians might join this incredible lineup.

Ozzy shared his feelings: “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Morello chimed in saying this would be “the greatest heavy metal show ever.”

In an interview with BBC News Sharon expressed how thrilled Ozzy is about reuniting with old friends and performing again; she mentioned he never got a proper farewell before so this concert serves as that closure.

Fans believe it’s going to be an unforgettable night full of emotions.

The money made will support Cure Parkinson’s charity alongside Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
