Chvrches Iain Cook Remixes Cranberries Linger Listen

Iain Cook from Chvrches has remixed the Cranberries’ 1993 hit “Linger.”

Cook took apart the original track and put it back together, keeping Dolores O’Riordan’s voice as the centerpiece. He said he started by listening to her isolated vocal tracks, which felt magical and full of emotion. Then, he played around with piano chords while focusing on her voice alone. This method helped him see the song in a new way, even though he’s loved it for over three decades.

Cranberries drummer Fergal Lawler praised Cook’s remix, calling it fresh and lively. He mentioned that Dolores’s vocals remain beautiful and touching in this new version. Lawler believes she would have been thrilled with it too.

“Linger” was originally part of the Cranberries’ first album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?

It’s amazing how some songs can be transformed yet still hold their original charm.

I think it’s cool when artists breathe new life into old classics
