DaBaby Guilty of Misdemeanor Battery in LA County

In 2022, DaBaby got in trouble for hitting a rental property owner during a music video shoot he wasn’t supposed to have.

DaBaby agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of misdemeanor simple battery. TMZ says, and it’s confirmed by others, that he will get one day in jail (which he’s already done), one year of probation, and must pay $10,000 to the victim.

The fight with Gary Pagar happened back in 2020. Pagar said DaBaby rented his place for a “private vacation” with no more than 12 people but instead had around 40 people shooting a music video. When Pagar tried to stop it, DaBaby allegedly hit him. The civil trial is set for September according to *Rolling Stone*.

I think this situation could have been avoided if there was better communication.

By the way, Pitchfork asked DaBabyโ€™s lawyer, Blair Bernholz Berk, for comments on the case and sentencing.
