Daniel Blumberg Nominated for 2025 Oscars Best Original Score for The Brutalist

The nominees for the 2025 Oscars’ Best Original Score have been revealed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Competing for the shiny award are Daniel Blumberg with The Brutalist, Volker Bertelmann’s music for Conclave, Clรฉment Ducol and Camille’s tunes in Emilia Pรฉrez, John Powell and Stephen Schwartz’s melodies in Wicked, and Kris Bowersโ€™ creation for The Wild Robot. Sadly, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who won a Golden Globe for their work on Challengers, didnโ€™t get a nod. The winner will be revealed on March 2 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre during the big ceremony.

The shortlist from December had 20 contenders. Besides Reznor and Ross, some others like Bryce Dessner from National with his score for Sing Sing, Robin Carolanโ€™s spooky sounds in Nosferatu, Andrea Datzmanโ€™s tunes in Inside Out 2, and Danny Elfman’s whimsical notes in Bettlejuice Bettlejuice Bettlejuice Bettlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuicet!!! didn’t make it to the final list.

I think fans are really looking forward to seeing who wins this time!
