Dean & Britta are working with Sonic Boom on a festive album coming out November 22 via Carpark.
Dean Wareham shared that their first single, "Pretty Paper," originally by Willie Nelson and popularized by Roy Orbison, has a sad story about a man selling ribbons alone outside a store. Britta Phillips arranged the song with lots of synths, similar to their work on the film Mistress America.
The album A Peace of Us includes 14 holiday songs that Dean & Britta have reimagined in their unique style. Their last album was Quarantine Tapes in 2020, and Sonic Boom recently worked with Panda Bear on Reset, which had dub and mariachi versions released later.
Sometimes we all need some music to lift our spirits during tough times.
