Donald Glover dropped a trailer for his new film Bando Stone & the New World, which he not only directed and starred in but also scored as Childish Gambino.
The movie, featuring a new Childish Gambino track called “Lithonia” set to release on July 2, shows Glover as Bando Stone trying to deliver mail in an empty town. He meets Jessica Allain’s character and her child, and they join forces to face off against monsters, dinosaurs, sci-fi lasers, and more. Check out the trailer below.
Over the weekend on Instagram, Glover shared an Imax ticket stub for A Quiet Place: Day One and mentioned that the trailer for Bando Stone & the New World would play before it. The movie was penned by Evi Wilder and produced by Gilga alongside RCA Records. Executive producers include Hiro Murai, Fam Udeorji, Chad Taylor, Ibra Ake, and Javier Alejandro. While there’s no set release date yet, both the movie and its soundtrack are expected this year.

Back in April, Glover announced plans for two more albums under his Childish Gambino name. The first is Atavista, which he calls a “finished version” of his album from four years ago named 3.15.20. The second will be tied to this new movie as its soundtrack.
This summer will see Childish Gambino touring through North America, Europe, and Oceania with Amaarae and Willow opening on select dates of the New World Tour—his first tour since 2019 that stretches into early next year .
