Empress Of, the musical persona of Los Angeles-based Lorely Rodriguez, is on the brink of releasing a new album. Titled “For Your Consideration,” this record is the anticipated successor to the 2020 hit “I’m Your Empress Of.” The launch is set for March 22 under the banner of Giant Music.

“What’s Love” is hot on the heels of Empress Of’s recent tunes “Femenine” and “Kiss Me,” which saw Rina Sawayama lend her vocals. These hits are part of “For Your Consideration,” an album that weaves Spanish and English in a melody partly inspired by the glitz of Hollywood. “I was smitten with a director,” Empress Of recalls, “His ‘For Your Consideration’ Oscars campaign was the muse for our title track.”
The album’s creation spanned Los Angeles to Miami and even Montreal. Empress Of teamed up with a stellar crew, including Nick León and Billboard. Her last work, the “Save Me” EP, graced our ears just last year.
