This weekend, Jaydes, a young rapper from Florida who is only 18, found himself in jail without bail for trying to kill someone. Police say he hurt a woman because she didn’t like him back the way he wanted. Now he’s in big trouble and can’t talk to her while also needing a check-up on his mental health.
The police had been looking for Jaydes since November 3 because of something bad that happened the day before. On November 2, officers rushed to an apartment in Tamarac after someone called them about a stabbing. A woman was there with cuts on her neck and arm; she needed lots of stitches at the hospital. We know her name but won’t share it here out of respect for her privacy.
The woman told police what happened when they got there. She said Jayden Yen Dumont, which is Jaydes’ real name, texted her earlier that day asking if she’d come over. He even sent an Uber to bring her to his place! When she got there, they were talking on his bed until he tried kissing her. She pushed him away saying she didn’t feel that way about him. But then he tried again! After being rejected twice, things took a scary turn when he left and came back with sharp objects—scissors and a pink box cutter—and attacked her! She bravely fought back and managed to lock herself in the bathroom where she called for help before he ran off.
