Four Tet and Ellie Goulding have dropped a new track called “In My Dreams.”
Late last year, Ellie sent Kieren Hebden some voice notes with song ideas, sparking their collaboration. Check out the song below.
“She’s mentioned before that she likes sending me vocals to use however I want (which is how ‘Baby’ came about a few years ago),” Hebden said. “I added other sounds to it and created ‘In My Dreams.’ She later added more vocal parts, but we kept the original voice notes as the main vocals. The first take often has a special magic.”
A few years ago, in 2020, Goulding worked with Four Tet on his Sixteen Oceans track “Baby.” More recently, he remixed her song “Easy Lover,” which got him a Grammy nod for Best Remixed Recording.
Over the years, she’s asked him for several remixes. Four Tet even released a remix of her hit “Burn” from 2013 and used her single “The Writer” in his track “Back2TheStart.” Her latest album is called Brightest Blue, which came out in 2020.
