Jessie Ware & Romy Release New Song Lift You Up

Jessie Ware and Romy from the xx have released a new song called “Lift You Up,” produced by Stuart Price.

This is their first time working together, and they even performed it live at Glastonbury. You can listen to the song and see their Glastonbury performance below.

Romy had helped Jessie with her 2014 album Tough Love, co-writing the track “Share It All.” Talking about “Lift You Up,” Romy said she’s been a fan of Jessie for years, and finally making music together felt amazing. She mentioned that the song aims to be uplifting and celebrate being together, which made sharing it at Glastonbury extra special.

Jessie shared how thrilled she was to work with Romy, praising her friend’s voice and saying she’s very proud of the record. The song talks about how both of them sometimes are too hard on themselves and lack self-belief—something many people can relate to.

I think everyone feels like that sometimes.

Last year, Romy put out her first solo album called Mid Air. This year, Jessie released her latest album titled That! Feels Good!.

On Saturday, July 20th, Jessie will perform at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. Other artists performing include Jamie xx, Alanis Morissette, Black Pumas, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jai Paul, Brittany Howard, De La Soul, Unwound, 100 Gecs among others. Tickets are available now.
