Jon Batiste Performs National Anthem at Super Bowl 2025

Tonight, Jon Batiste from Louisiana dazzled everyone at the Super Bowl LIX pre-game show.

Wearing a shiny black suit with glittering brooches, he played piano and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.” As he performed, scenes of football players, a huge American flag on the field, U.S. Corps standing proudly, and U.S. Marine Corps soaring above filled the screens. The performance took place in New Orleans’ Caesar Superdome.

Before the big game kicked off, Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle teamed up for “America the Beautiful,” featuring extra tuba and acoustic guitar sounds. Ledisi brought her voice to “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Local marching bands also joined in with a medley led by Harry Connick Jr., mixing in tunes from New Orleans artists like Big Freedia’s song “Explode.”

Fans love how music brings everyone together during these events.

The previous year’s Super Bowl saw Post Malone singing “America the Beautiful,” Andra Day performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” while Reba McEntire took on “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Jon Batiste dropped his new album World Music Radio in August 2023; before that, he gave us Beethoven Blues and composed music for the movie Saturday Night.
