Kevin Morby Festival Featuring Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Makaya McCraven

Kevin Morby is putting together a one-day music festival called This Is a Festival.

The event, inspired by his 2022 album This Is a Photograph, will be hosted by Noise Pop at the Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, California. The lineup includes Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Makaya McCraven, Ben Kweller, and Blackstarkids. Morby will headline the festival himself. Check out the poster below.

“Getting asked to host a festival is very surreal,” said Morby in a press release. “It feels like a dream in which youโ€™re trying to rationalize how all of these different people from your life are somehow in the same place at the same time,” he added. “In the case of my festival, itโ€™s an absolute dream come true: five of my favorite artists spanning the last twenty years of my life all performing at an amphitheater that will be MCโ€™d by my favorite podcast, How Long Gone. Come watch myself, Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Ben Kweller, Makaya Mccraven, and Blackstarkids share the stage of the Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz this Octoberโ€”which is to really sayโ€”come be in my dream!”

Fans are always thrilled when their favorite musicians do something new.

Just last year, Morby dropped More Photographs (A Continuum), which revisited songs from his previous album This Is a Photograph. He also created music for Scott McGehee and David Siegelโ€™s film Montana Story, featuring Haley Lu Richardson and Owen Teague.
