LiAngelo Ball’s Viral Song “Tweaker” Lands Def Jam Recordings Deal

In 2025, LiAngelo Ball surprised everyone with a song called โ€œTweaker,โ€ catching the eyes of the Detroit Lions and Lil Yachty.

ESPNโ€™s Shams Charania shared that LiAngelo snagged a record deal with Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Group, possibly earning him up to $13 million! He released his track through his family label, Born to Ball Music Group, while still owning all his music. A rep from Def Jam said the signing was true but kept quiet about money stuff.

LiAngelo is one of LaVar Ball’s sons; you know, the dad who made Big Baller Brand when Lonzo was heading into the NBA. LaVar used to be everywhere promoting his boysโ€™ basketball dreams until they grew up and started doing their own thing.

Before “Tweaker,” G3 Gelo (thatโ€™s what LiAngelo goes by) didnโ€™t have much music out there. He did pop up on Lonzoโ€™s song โ€œBITFโ€ back in 2018. Now, people are excited because heโ€™ll be performing at Rolling Loud California in March!

LiAngelo played ball at Chino Hills High School in California and planned to play for UCLA. But then he got into trouble for shoplifting in China with some teammates in 2017. They got sent home but were suspended by UCLA’s team, so he left school and played pro basketball in places like Lithuania, Mexico, and even tried out for the NBA G League.
