Los Campesinos! Drop New More Hell EP

Los Campesinos! are back with more music magic.

After their July return with the album All Hell, theyโ€™re dropping a new EP called More Hell, which includes different takes on five songs from All Hell and a fresh cover of โ€œWaitโ€ by Secret Stars. The EP is available below, and you can also check out their tour dates for 2025.

Gareth David shared his thoughts: โ€œThe Secret Starsโ€™ โ€˜Wait,โ€™ was included on a mixtape a friend made me when I was a teenager. For years, this tape dub was the only way I had of listening to the song, and Iโ€™d play it over and over. A little later, Iโ€™d buy the Death Cab You Can Play These Songs With Chords CD and was struck by lightning when I surprisedly heard their version. I loved this, too, and it became a staple of the love letter mix CDs Iโ€™d make for others. At some point, I found a trashy MP3 on Soulseek, but would keep going back to the tape until 2012 when somebody uploaded the original version of the song to YouTube. A rip of the vinyl audio, playing atop a video of the 7″ spinning on a turntable. It feels kind of perfect that the original, 30 years since its release, still hasnโ€™t made its way to streaming. I hope our version will find a place on playlists you send to others to keep this cycle going.โ€

Fans sometimes feel like these stories make music even more special.

Tom Bromley chimed in about their creative process: โ€œI know itโ€™s self indulgent, but I love the strings on All Hell, and I love the sax, and all those tiny details that might get lost otherwise really shine through in these stripped-down versions.โ€ They decided to redo some parts quickly in Cardiff because things didnโ€™t fit right anymoreโ€”now he loves them even more!
