Mercury Rev is back with a new album after nine years, called Born Horses, coming out on September 6 through Bella Union.
Their single “Patterns” is already out, along with a music video featuring close-ups of movie reel countdowns and grainy scenes. You can watch the clip and see the tracklist for Born Horses below.
“When we look at stars at night, they seem to twinkle randomly,” Mercury Rev explained about the song. “But if we could see all galaxies moving together, we’d notice an order. It’s just Patterns upon Patterns…”
I think it’s fascinating how music can make us feel so many things.
Back in 2019, they put out a covers album called Bobbie Gentry’s the Delta Sweete Revisited. Also, check out their first album from 1991, Yerself Is Steam.
