Model/Actriz just dropped a fresh track called “Diva,” and it’s actually the third single from their upcoming album, Pirouette.
Before this, they already put out “Doves” and “Cinderella,” so fans have gotten a pretty good preview of what’s coming. Cole Haden talked about how “Diva” is inspired by dates he went on while touring; he said, “The song takes place on a date, and the song references many of the real ones I’ve been on while on tour.” He also shared that sometimes those fun nights can suddenly feel sad because you realize you might never see that person again: “Specifically, I’m remembering the times where frivolity shifted to mourning as we both realized we may never see each other again once the night is over. What I’ve learned is that in order to be ‘that bitch,’ one must make use of the melancholia.”
We always wonder what goes through someone’s mind when they write music like this.
The new record Pirouette will arrive May 2, following last year’s Dogsbody. There was even an interview about how Model/Actriz sees confrontation as a way to get closer to people—kind of wild but interesting!
