Modern Baseball took a break in 2017, but now they’re back with a special reissue of their hit album You’re Gonna Miss It All for its 10th birthday.
The reissue is coming out on September 27 through Run for Cover. It features a big photo book by Jess Flynn, where the band added notes to each picture, plus there’s a 7” record with demos that no one’s heard before. You can listen to two of those demos, “Pothole” and “Rock Bottom,” which Ian Farmer remastered.
Jake Ewald from Modern Baseball said he remembers the days in the van and Ian’s big smile on stage mostly through Jess’ photos. He feels thankful not just for the memories but also for what he learned from Jess about being an artist. She had this cool nickname, ‘the unzipper,’ because she could capture them at their happiest and saddest moments while everyone else was just watching them perform.
I think it’s really nice when people can find such good friends who help them see things differently.
You’re Gonna Miss It All, their second album, came out in 2014 after their first one called Sports. Thanks to songs like “Your Graduation,” it made it to No. 97 on Billboard 200. They made another album called Holy Ghost in 2016 before they stopped playing together the next year.
