New Radicals Cover Murder on the Dancefloor, Write to Doug Emhoff

I’m reaching out to all artists and music folks in America because it’s urgent that we act now to protect our democracy.

We must use our influence to support the candidate who stands for true freedom and women’s rights, not the one who talks about canceling future elections or taking away our freedoms. Time is running out!

When we chatted in New York, it was clear you’re a dedicated family man with a strong sense of duty towards your country. You and Kamala are like modern-day revolutionaries in the best way. Itโ€™s awesome that Hall & Oates covered โ€œSomeday Weโ€™ll Knowโ€ or that critic Robert Christgau gave us an “A” on our album.

Just so you know, New Radicals never agree to requests from drug companies wanting us to change our lyrics. Our publishers back us up by saying โ€œno problem.โ€ We refuse to support any industry contributing to the opioid crisis that’s taken so many lives.

I wonder what song these Silicon Valley jingle writers will mess up next? Maybe “Celebrex Sadness”? Even after 25 years since July 12th, if any big pharma comes around, we’ll still stand against them!

We’re thankful that young athletes and musicians are inspired by our music and joining the cause. Like Charli XCX, who loves Kamalaโ€™s politics (and we absolutely love her โ€œ1999โ€ video tribute!), or Travis Kelce tweeting โ€œIโ€™ve got the Dreamers Disease!โ€ which really moved me because it means standing up for your beliefs!!

Fans can make a big difference when they come together.
