On August 9, Milan Records is set to release a new album titled Opus by the late Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The album features a solo piano rendition of “Tong Poo,” a classic from Yellow Magic Orchestra. You can listen to it below.
Opus includes recordings from Sakamoto’s last concert, which his son Neo Sora filmed for a documentary also called Opus. The film will premiere online on Sunday, June 30, at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on the Criterion Channel and will be available there exclusively after its debut.
I think it’s amazing how music can capture such deep emotions.
