Passion Pit just surprised everyone by revealing a bunch of last-minute shows at Deluxx Fluxx in New York.
Instead of the usual tour, Michael Angelakos is heading underground to Webster Hall’s basement every Tuesday and Wednesday for four weeks straight, kicking off on April 29 and 30. Each night, the music starts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time—don’t be late or you’ll miss the opening beats. The setlist is a mix of throwback tracks people love and some brand-new tunes from Nine Times Your Torch Song, which he’s calling either an album or a “demo archive” (depends on his mood, probably). That whole project is dropping through Substack if you want to keep up.
Here are all the dates lined up:
Tuesday, April 29, 2025
Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Tuesday, May 6, 2025
Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Wednesday, May 14, 2025
Tuesday, May 20, 2025
Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Fans think these surprise gigs are such a cool way to hear new songs before anyone else.
It’s been ages since we got fresh Passion Pit recordings—the last was Tremendous Sea of Love back in twenty-seventeen—and then there was that Gossamer reissue in twenty-twenty-three (nostalgia alert). Now with this new batch of songs about to drop live for the first time ever… it feels like something big might happen down there in that neon-lit basement. Sometimes I wonder what snacks they sell at Deluxx Fluxx; popcorn would be nice.
