R. Kelly’s Appeal Denied for Racketeering & Sex Trafficking Conviction

In 2023, R. Kelly tried to overturn his conviction for serious crimes, but the court said no.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit decided on Wednesday, February 12, that R. Kelly’s conviction and his 30-year prison sentence would remain as they are. His lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, described this decision as “unprecedented” and thinks there’s a chance the Supreme Court might take another look at it.

This recent ruling is about his case in New York; however, he also faced trouble in Chicago where he was found guilty of making child pornography and trying to lure girls into bad situations. The Supreme Court didn’t want to discuss changing his 20-year sentence for those charges.

Sometimes we wonder if justice will be fair or not.

R. Kelly’s situation seems pretty complicated with all these different cases going on at once!
