Refused Cancel Reunion Show After Frontman’s Heart Attack

Refused had to cancel their final festival in Sweden because Dennis Lyxzén had a serious heart attack.

Dennis shared on Instagram that it was extremely painful and very scary, but thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses at Uppsala hospital, he’s still here. He said he feels sore, tired, and really shaken up. Though he hates canceling shows, the doctor advised no rock for a few weeks.

The Stockholm show at Rosendal Garden Party would have been their first in four years since releasing War Music in 2019. This weekend’s festival will feature The Cardigans, M.I.A., and Massive Attack as headliners.

I think it’s important to listen to your body when it’s telling you something is wrong.

In his post with a photo of him in the hospital bed, Dennis mentioned how disappointed he is about missing the show but hopes they can make it up soon. He also said that with medication, he’ll be back rocking sooner than later. Life can be strange and precious; remember to tell your loved ones you care about them.
