Rock Hall 2025 Nominees: Oasis, White Stripes, Outkast & More

The list of artists nominated for the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been announced.

This year’s contenders include familiar faces like Oasis, the White Stripes, Mariah Carey, Soundgarden, and Joy Division with New Order. Making their debut are Outkast and Phish, while other names on the list feature Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and Maná. Meanwhile, Sinéad O’Connor, Sade, and Eric B. & Rakim didn’t make it this time around after being overlooked in 2024. The previous class had Cher and A Tribe Called Quest among others.

Fans wonder what surprises this year’s ceremony will bring.

John Sykes from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation expressed admiration for these artists by stating that they have each crafted unique sounds that have left a mark on many music lovers: “These remarkable Nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll.”

In April they’ll also pick three non-performer honorees who will be recognized for Musical Influence or Excellence as well as with the Ahmet Ertegun Non Performer Award.
