Rough Trade Opening Rockefeller Center Store

There’s a brand-new Rough Trade store popping up at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

This upcoming spot, called Rough Trade Below, is set to open in the spring. It’s going to be hugeโ€”4,000 square feet! You’ll find it right by the subway station at 47thโ€“50th Streets. Inside, there will be tons of vinyl records and CDs, both new and used. Plus, they’ll have cool artist merch, audio gear, Blu-rays, and more. They’re planning to host events where anyone can come enjoy live music too.

Rough Trade’s Stephen Godfroy said:

Weโ€™re extremely excited to be opening Rough Trade Below this spring, helping us further cater to the tremendous demand from music lovers across the five boroughs and beyond. Itโ€™s clear that the ethos of Rough Tradeโ€”to narrow the gap between artist and audienceโ€”has struck a tremendous chord here in New York. Creating an even larger mecca for the music lover is an exciting prospect, especially for our intimate live events where the worldโ€™s most exciting artists perform in-store for the admission of purchasing their new album. Creating a focus of counterculture in midtown Manhattan has thankfully proved to be a wildly successful move, and we look forward to creating an even stronger creative community as the year progresses.

The first Rough Trade shop opened back in 2013 over in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg area before they moved it over to Manhattan two years ago.

Sometimes we just love discovering new places with awesome vibes!
