Sacred Bones Releases New Album Goodbye Horses by Q Lazzarus

Sacred Bones Records is set to release a special collection of songs from the legendary Q Lazzarus, featuring music recorded between 1985 and 1995.

Q Lazzarus, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 61 after a brief illness, had been collaborating on a documentary with her friend Aridjis Fuentes. This new compilation is linked to that film project. The album includes rare tracks found on old digital tapes and cassettes, now available as a vinyl record with extra songs on CD and digital formats.

Her famous song "Goodbye Horses" was featured in two movies by Jonathan Demme: first in Married to the Mob (1988) and later in The Silence of the Lambs (1991), where it played during an iconic scene with Buffalo Bill. Interestingly, Q met Demme while driving a taxi back in the ’80s; she also encountered Aridjis while working as her driver years later.

Sometimes we think about how cool it would be to meet our heroes by chance like that.
