S.G. Goodman has exciting news about her upcoming album, Planting by the Signs, which will be released on June 20 through her label, Slough Water Records, along with Thirty Tigers.
The new album features guest appearances by Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Matthew Rowan. Inspired by the loss of her dog and a mentor she deeply valued, this collection follows her 2022 release, Teeth Marks. The first single from the album is called “Fire Sign,” and there’s a video for it that you can watch right now.
“People are quick to tell you that you are not working hard enough, but slow in telling you that you are working hard enough,” Goodman shared about “Fire Sign.” She talks about how tough touring can be but also mentions finding strength: “I found the fire to keep pushing and to make what I believe is my best record yet. ‘Who’ll put the fire out?’ The only person who can put my fire out is myself.”
Fans sometimes wonder if artists feel all their hard work pays off.
