Shamir has shared the news about what he says will be his last album.
This upcoming album, titled Ten, is set to arrive in the spring through Kill Rock Stars. It’s a mix of tracks written by friends, unused demos, and some forgotten tunes brought back to life. The first song from the album is “Neverwannago,” penned by Andrew Harmon from Portland. You can check out its music video directed by Matthew Ober and starring August Nandé.
Back in 2015, Shamir made waves with his first album, Ratchet. Over the next ten years, he kept changing up his music style in surprising ways—what he calls an “anti-career.” In 2017, he released two lo-fi albums, Hope and Revelations, using just a four-track recorder. Then came his self-titled 2020 album that blended folk, country, indie-rock, and dance-pop vibes. Most recently, he dropped Heterosexuality in 2022 and Homo Anxietatem in 2023.
Sometimes fans just wish artists would keep making new music forever!
