Slowthai Acquitted in Rape Trial

Note: This article talks about claims of sexual assault.

Slowthai, the rapper, was found not guilty in a rape case involving two fans, as reported by BBC News.

During the trial, it came out that Slowthai and his buddy Alex Blake-Walker met these women before a 2021 concert in Oxford and gave them special tickets. After the show, they all went to one of the women’s houses for a party. There, according to what was said in court by Heather Stangoe from the prosecution team, things took a turn when Slowthai and Blake-Walker allegedly separated the women from their pals.

The accusations were serious: on a balcony-like roof area at the house, it was claimed that both men made jokes while committing awful acts against the women. They denied this though, saying everything was consensual. The prosecutor told how they supposedly high-fived each other and talked about doing “tag teams” or switching partners during these actions. One woman stated that Slowthai attacked her twice with encouragement from Blake-Walker. In an interview with police days later she said she pleaded for him to stop but he just pulled her hair more while telling her โ€œitโ€™s safe with us.โ€

She described feeling like she had no control over her own body when Slowthai pushed her against walls before continuing his actions on the floor. When friends noticed something wasnโ€™t right and intervenedโ€”telling them to quitโ€”itโ€™s said Frampton leaped off the roof trying to escape.

Fans hope justice is always served correctly so everyone feels protected.
