A jury in Santa Monica decided that Soulja Boy is responsible for several serious charges after a woman who used to work as his personal assistant sued him in January 2021.
The woman, called Jane Doe, will receive over $4 million because the musician was found responsible for assault, sexual battery, gender violence, causing emotional pain on purpose, not paying her properly, and other damages. However, he wasn’t held accountable for things like false imprisonment or making a hostile work environment.
“We’re happy our client was vindicated and the jury believed her claims of physical and sexual assault,” said Ronald L. Zambrano, one of Doe’s lawyers. “We’re looking forward to moving on to the punitive damages phase of the case.”
Neama Rahmani added that this verdict marks just the start of justice for victims like Jane Doe in the music world.
Jane Doe started working with Soulja Boy in December 2018. Her lawsuit says they began dating soon after she got hired. But then he turned violent around January 23, 2019. The lawsuit describes many instances where he hurt her physically by kicking or punching her and also sexually assaulted her while threatening harm or even death.
The scary events continued until December 23, 2020. On that day she tried getting her stuff from his house but got attacked again according to what she said happened last.
During a trial starting in March this year at court hearings Jane shared how bad it really got; claiming repeated rapes alongside regular beatings left only weighing about eighty-six pounds when finally escaping him feeling more animal than human being anymore!
Soulja Boy denies these accusations made by Jane Doe while dealing with another separate case involving similar allegations against him too; Attorney Rickey Ivie representing believes she’s lying just trying cash out financially instead here.
