The long-awaited sequel to the 1984 classic This Is Spinal Tap is finally coming, with a new release date set for September 12, 2025.
Originally planned for March 2024, the movie was pushed back because of the Hollywood strikes in 2023. Now, Bleecker Street will be taking care of its release in the U.S. Rob Reiner, who directed and stars as Martin “Marty” Di Bergi again, shared his excitement: “So happy to be working with the folks at Bleecker Street who are passionate about keeping Tap’s legacy alive and happy to give Marty DiBergi another shot at relevancy.”
Returning to their roles as Spinal Tap’s band members are Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer. They’ll be joined by big names like Paul McCartney and Elton John.
I think fans are thrilled that these legendary characters are back together!
