Ghostly International is set to bring Studio’s first album, West Coast, back into the spotlight on January 24, 2025.
The Swedish duo, known for their unique sound, has released a fresh video for “Origin,” a track from this album. This reissue will be available on vinyl, cassette, and mini-disc formats and will also mark the record’s debut on streaming platforms.
Back in 2006, West Coast was initially launched by Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg through their own label called Information. The following year saw the release of Yearbook 1, which helped fans around the world discover their music beyond Gothenburg. As one critic put it: “impossible visions of Can making a Happy Mondays tribute album or the Cure backed by Fela Kuti.” Despite no official sequel ever being made, they did release another collection called Yearbook 2, focused on remixes in 2008.
I think people are excited about this reissue because it’s like finding an old treasure chest full of surprises.
