Tekashi 6ix9ine Gets 45-Day Federal Prison Sentence for Probation Violation

6ix9ine is set to remain behind bars for another 45 days after two weeks in solitary, all because he broke some probation rules.

The rapper confessed to several missteps like traveling without permission, skipping drug tests, and having methamphetamines on him. Judge Engelmayer didn’t hold back and told him that being rich and famous doesnโ€™t mean you can ignore the laws. โ€œBut the same rules do apply to you,โ€ the judge said. Once he’s out of jail, he’ll be under house arrest for a month and have curfews for another month since his probation got extended by a year instead of ending soon. Before hearing his punishment, 6ix9ine apologized in court saying, โ€œIโ€™m very sorry. Iโ€™m not minimizing my actions. I fully take responsibility. I let myself down. I let my family down. Give me an opportunity to clean things up.โ€

We sometimes forget that celebrities must follow rules too.

This whole situation started when he was released early from prison in April 2020 because COVID-19 was spreading fast among inmates and he has asthma which made it risky for him to stay locked up longer. He had faced many years in jail but got a much shorter sentence after helping the authorities by testifying against people he used to hang out with who were involved in gang activities.

Itโ€™s kind of wild how life twists and turns sometimes!
