These New Puritans Release Album with Caroline Polachek Song Video

A fresh album is on the horizon for These New Puritans, and it’s coming soon!

After a break since 2019’s Inside the Rose, Jack and George Barnett are back with their latest work, Crooked Wing, which will be available on May 23 through Domino. They’ve already given us a taste with two new tracks: “Bells” and “Industrial Love Song.” Caroline Polachek lends her voice to the latter. Check out the music video for “Industrial Love Song,” directed by Harley Weir, below; you can also listen to “Bells” further down.

Jack shared that “Industrial Love Song” tells a story of cranes on a construction site having a duet. Caroline sings as one crane, while Jack takes on the role of the other. Although they can’t physically connect because operators control them, they dream of their shadows meeting when dawn breaks. Jack finds it amusing how George’s title choice plays with what people might expect—it’s not your typical industrial vibe.

Fans sometimes wonder how artists come up with such unique ideas.

The production of Crooked Wing was handled by Jack Barnett alongside Graham Sutton, who previously collaborated on their albums Hidden and Field of Reeds. George Barnett took charge as executive producer this time around.

Here’s what’s in store for you in Crooked Wing:
01 Waiting
02 Bells
03 A Season in Hell
04 Industrial Love Song [ft. Caroline Polachek]
05 I’m Already Here
06 Wild Fields (I Don’t Want To)
07 The Old World
08 Crooked Wing
09 Goodnight
10 Return
