TV on the Radio is making a comeback after several years.
The Brooklyn band will re-release their first album, Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes, on November 15 to mark its 20th anniversary. They’ll also have concerts in New York, Los Angeles, and London to celebrate, but David Andrew Sitek won’t be able to join them. Check out the dates below along with an early demo of “Bomb Yourself” called “Final Fantasy.” This song is one of five bonus tracks in the reissue, two of which are previously unreleased.
The other extra songs include “Staring at the Sun (Demo),” “New Health Rock,” “Modern Romance,” and “Dry Drunk Emperor.” Touch and Go will handle the release.
Since their last album in 2014 called Seeds, TV on the Radio has kept things pretty quiet. They released only one single in 2015 for Record Store Day called “Trouble” and played some concerts here and there, including a Prince tribute event and a Bernie Sanders rally. For about five years now, they’ve been mostly silent; their last show was at Madison Square Garden in March 2019. Just last month they started teasing fans with new images and updates on their website.
Fans love when bands come back after a long break.
During this time away from music, Tunde Adebimpe has been busy acting in movies like Twisters, Marriage Story, HBO’s Perry Mason, and even an animated show called Tuca & Bertie. Kyp Malone starred in the movie Doors from 2021 and made music with John Dwyer of Oh Sees. Meanwhile, Sitek has been producing indie-rock albums like Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ comeback record from 2022 called Cool It Down.
